For Netgear Routers:
a. In the address bar type http://192.168.0.1 and
press [Enter].
b. In the popup window type "Admin" for the user
name and "Password" for the password. (If you have
changed your username or password, type those in
here instead.) This will open your Router's
control panel.
c. From the menu on the left, under "Advanced" you
will see "Port Forwarding". Click on it. This
opens the Port Forwarding Menu.
d. Click the [Add Custom Services] button.
e. Type OliveLink as the service name and enter any number
between 55501 and 55509 as the starting and ending port
(e.g., starting port: 55502, ending port: 55502).
Enter the IP address you wrote down in Step 1 in
the Server IP Address window.
f. Make sure the "Enable Service" box is checked and
click the [Add] button.
You have successfully enabled port forwarding on
your router. You may now close your browser.
For Linksys Routers:
a. In the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 and
press [Enter].
b. In the popup window leave the user name blank
and "Password" for the password. (If you have
changed your user name or password, type those
in here instead.) This will open your Router's
control panel.
c. From the tabs on the top of the window, click
the "Advanced" Tab.
d. Click the "Port Forwarding" (also called
"Applications and Gaming" on some versions).
e. Type OliveLink as the service name and enter any number
between 55501 and 55509 as the starting and ending port
(e.g., starting port: 55502, ending port: 55502).
Enter the IP address you wrote down in Step 1 in
the Server IP Address window.
f. Make sure the "Enable Service" box is checked and
click the [Apply] ([Ok] on some versions) button.
You have successfully enabled port forwarding on your
router. You may now close your browser.
